RISE FROM THE DUST AND SIT ON YOUR THRONE

There is a saying that goes, “If size would have mattered an elephant would
have been the king of the jungle." A young lady from Mpumalanga, Nelspruit have proven this to be true.
Hailing from Mpumalanga, Nelspruit is a 22-year-old Thandeka Malomane who
is well known for her stage name Ndeka DE poet. Thandeka is a young uprising
poet, she writes and recites her own poems.
"My joy comes from poetry. Growing up I enjoyed listening to other
poets and analyzing poems came naturally to me as a matter of fact I became
really good," said Ndeka DE poet. The young individual says she started
performing as a poet in 2013 when she was only 14 years old and from then till
now her passion for poetry has grown fonder.
In 2020 she was nominated for the best upcoming poet category at the SATE awards hosted by SATE tv.
" A motto that always kept me going is, rise from the dust and sit on your throne ", said the young poet.
She hopes that in the next few years her career will be successful and she imagines herself as a very powerful and well-known poet. She says two people that she looks up to are Cofi and Sbuda the poet because of their dedication and enthusiasm which they show in their work. She believes that with the support she receives from her friends and family who have been a good support system in her journey she will go far with her career.
She would like to validate and affirm to every young individual
out there who are interested in poetry
that it's possible as long as you instil your mind into it.
