School failed to alert family about bullying

Following the death of Lufuno Mavhunga, her family is left disappointed with the way Mbilwi Secondary School, in Limpopo, handled the situation.

The family of the 15-year-old says the school failed to alert them about the bullying incident that she had to endure.

It took place at the school’s premises.

A video of the unfortunate incident has since gone viral on social media platforms.

It shows learners engaging in a confrontational conversation interrupted by another learner who can be seen slapping and harassing Mavhunga.

Following the viral video, Grade 10 learner Lufuno committed suicide by overdosing on medication.
