School failed to alert family about bullying
By: Staff writer Following the death of Lufuno Mavhunga, her family is left disappointed with the way Mbilwi Secondary School, in Limpopo , handled the situation. The family of the 15-year-old says the school failed to alert them about the bullying incident that she had to endure. It took place at the school’s premises. A video of the unfortunate incident has since gone viral on social media platforms. It shows learners engaging in a confrontational conversation interrupted by another learner who can be seen slapping and harassing Mavhunga. Following the viral video, Grade 10 learner Lufuno committed suicide by overdosing on medication.
